Who we are

Necessary Innovations AB was founded in 2022 in Gothenburg, Sweden. We're a team of engineers who care deeply about building software that works — not just today, but years from now.

We started Necessary because we saw too many projects fail not from a lack of ambition, but from a lack of technical clarity. Complex systems don't need complex organizations to build them. They need people who understand the problem deeply and can execute with precision.

How we work

We take on a small number of projects at a time. This lets us give each engagement the focused attention it deserves. We work closely with our clients — embedded in their teams when it helps, autonomous when it doesn't.

Our approach is pragmatic. We choose the right tool for the job, not the trendiest one. We write code that's meant to be read, maintained, and extended by others. We document decisions, not just implementations.

Based in Gothenburg

Our headquarters are in Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city and a hub for technology and engineering. We work with clients across Sweden and internationally, both on-site and remotely.
